Insurance
I am currently in-network with Aetna and Optum plans including United HealthCare, Oxford, Oscar, and Optum EAP plans as credentialed via Headway and Alma's insurance programs. If using insurance, your financial responsibility depends on your specific plan. I encourage you to contact your insurance carrier directly to learn more about your mental health benefits.
Fees listed below are for individuals not using insurance. If your insurance plan has out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with a “superbill” each month that has the necessary information required for your insurance company to potentially reimburse you a percentage approved by your plan. Reimbursement is dependent on out-of-network benefits and plan details.
15-Minute Consultation
I provide a complimentary 15-minute consultation to patients interested in working with me. The consultation is a phone call where you can briefly tell me about your needs and ask questions about my services. I will ask some questions and based off our conversation, I'll share with you whether I think it's a good idea to schedule an initial assessment to discuss your concerns in more depth. The consultation is not diagnostic and does not replace the initial assessment.
Fees: Complimentary
Initial Assessment
The initial assessment is our first session and typically lasts up to 60-minutes. The purpose of this appointment is to explore what's bringing you in for services, assess your symptoms, and gather background history. This information helps me get to know you better and inform initial diagnostic impressions that will help me make recommendations for your care. At the end of the session, I'll share these impressions with you and we can decide together if you want to proceed with my recommendations.
The initial assessment is also an opportunity to determine goodness-of-fit between the two of us. I encourage you to get to know me, ask questions about what you can expect from me, and assess whether you would feel comfortable working with me. The relationship between therapist and patient is incredibly important to your success. If you or I determine that we're not a good fit for your needs, I will try my best to provide you with referrals.
Fees: $300
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy sessions are conducted in a one-on-one format between therapist and patient. Individual therapy can be beneficial when you need individualized care to address your concerns. Sessions last between 45 to 60-minutes and are typically scheduled on a weekly basis, depending on your needs. As therapy progresses, the frequency of individual sessions can be reduced as needed.
The content of individual sessions depends on the treatment modality we agree upon. Some people benefit from an unstructured and supportive space to talk freely about their life concerns, while others require a more structured approach. I generally take a skills-based approach in working with patients. Regardless of treatment approach, I emphasize the importance of creating a safe, honest, and nonjudgmental space to work together towards your goals.
Fees:
45-minute Individual Session: $200
60-minute Individual Session: $265
Parenting Skills
When working with adolescents, sometimes I'll recommend separate sessions with the adolescent's caregivers to work on "parenting" skills. Parenting is a hard job and no one is formally taught how to parent. These skills are meant to improve the relationship between parent and teen, while also teaching effective skills to respond to your teen's needs. This is also a space to discuss general updates about your teen's progress and ongoing treatment needs. These sessions are generally more structured and focused on meeting the systemic needs of your teen and do not serve as individual therapy for the parent.
Fees:
30-minute Parenting Session: $150
45-minute Parenting Session: $200
60-minute Parenting Session: $265
Payment and Cancellation Policy
Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. If you are using your insurance, Alma or Headway will collect your co-payment/co-insurance directly. Payments can be made via credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). Because I do not see anyone in person, I do not accept cash or check.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24-hours advanced notice are subject to a $75 late-cancellation fee out of respect to other patients who may need that time slot. A $75 no-show fee also applies for any missed appointments without notice.
Good Faith Estimate
Therapy is an investment for your future self and I believe in transparency when it comes to the cost of your mental health care. Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) detailing the expected costs of services before you commit to treatment. This means: no hidden fees, a clear breakdown of session costs, and financial peace of mind at the onset of therapy.
If you're uninsured or choosing not to use insurance, I'll provide a GFE so you can make informed decisions about your care. Actual costs may vary depending on your unique needs, but you are always entitled to ask for a GFE before scheduling a service. If you receive a bill that is $400 or more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may be able to dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
